Caitlin Bates is an internationally shown artist living and working in Alpharetta, GA. She received her BFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta in 2009. Caitlin is a wife & mother. She loves the smell of vintage books and listening to music. Despite her distaste for blood and gore, she is fascinated with anatomy and the macabre.

Experimenting with things and processes that I normally wouldn’t. Mostly because I don’t like them, but I kind of like how this came out? Pushing outside my zone is starting to have some perks.

I’ve been trying to take this quote to heart anywhere I can right now. It’s so easy to get caught up in the details to make things perfect. While they’re great and important, they often are what cause my biggest source of stress. Wh
I’ve been trying to take this quote to heart anywhere I can right now. It’s so easy to get caught up in the details to make things perfect. While they’re great and important, they often are what cause my biggest source of stress. When trying to make art, or thinking about making art. But also in other aspects of my life. With work, letting things go in order to make a deadline is so hard. In parenting, when I just want my kid to listen, but remembering she’s only a child! Stop thinking and just do.
